2nd Vice President - Programs Chair - Marianne Crook

About Marianne:

Marianne Crook joined the NAGT founding committee in 2019 in order to create opportunities for parents of gifted children in Northwest ISD to connect with each other. Marianne and her husband have two children who attend Kay Granger Elementary. After 10+ years working as a special events planner in both the corporate and non-profit worlds, Marianne has recently taken some time off to return to school to become a teacher. When she isn't studying, she can be found cheering for her kids at baseball games, dance lessons, and basketball games. She also enjoys browsing through cookbooks and making cookies!

Communications Officer - XiaoXia Cao

About Me:

Xiaoxia Cao is the communication officer of NAGT this year. She was born and raised in China and immigrated to the United States 17 years ago. Before moving to Texas, her family lived in Wisconsin for 13 years. Her family loves travelling and experiencing different cultures. She even had a RV trip with her family during COVID19 pandemic to Rocky Mountain National Park and Great Sand Dunes National Park.  She hopes to visit many more places in the United States and abroad before her daughters go to college.
She volunteered to be the NAGT communication officer because her older daughter has benefited tremendously from the GATES program of NISD in the past 4 years. She wants to be an advocate for all the students like her daughter and their parents in the school district so that their needs can be better served.
